Board of Education

Administrative Procedure – Recognition of Students, Staff and Others

With regards to Recognition, individuals and/or groups to be recognized for special achievements by the Board of Education shall be invited to appear at a regular Board meeting where a scroll or certificate would be presented to the individual achiever at the beginning of the meeting.

A. The following students would be recognized at a Board meeting:

1. National Merit Finalists, Livingston Human Relations Award.

2. Individuals and members of teams or organizations declared State finals level participants.

3. Individuals recommended for special recognition by the Superintendent for achievement of a nature to present distinction to the individual, their school, and the Glenbard District.

B. The following staff members would be recognized at a Board meeting:

1. Individuals completing twenty-five (25) years of service in the Glenbard District.

2. Sponsors/coaches of any individual or team to be declared State finals level trophy participants.

3. Individuals recommended for special recognition by the Superintendent for achievement of a nature to bring distinction to the individual, their school, and the Glenbard District.

C. The following members of the public would be recognized at a Board meeting:

1. Individuals and/or community members recognized and recommended by the building Principal through the Superintendent for special contributions to the Glenbard District.

With regards to Acknowledgment, special achievements of individuals and/or groups to be acknowledged by the Board of Education shall be accomplished through correspondence from the Office of the Superintendent on behalf of the Board.

A. The following students and staff members would receive acknowledgement through the Office of the Superintendent:

1. National Merit Semi-Finalists and recipients of Letters of Commendation.

2. Illinois State Scholars.

3. Individuals recognized and recommended by building Principals through the Superintendent for special achievements.


With regards to Publicity, the achievements of individuals and/or groups recognized or acknowledged shall also be given to community recognition through newsletters and the local media.
